Representation of age in Humans

Humans is where people have synths this is a life like robot that dose all the stuff that you need it to it can even drive. Synths only represent age in there looks as they don’t age so there for they show no signs of aging. In the clip the children treat her as a slave and the girl even says that she is a slave they are just accepted in to society by most people but the family’s mum disagrees with it and wants it out of there house. There mum looks quite old and does not want a synth this shows that the main elder person in the family does not want one and disagrees with the technology and notices something weird about it like it has feelings.

Camera

There is an establishing shot of the family sitting at the table then when the synth starts to lath they all smile but when she does not stop you get a perspective shot from the family’s dad this allows the user to see all their reactions to her not stopping. Also, when they all speak at the table the camera focuses on the speaker, and the synth when it speaks it always has the camera focused on it.

Editing

There is a cut shot strata away as it jumps to breakfast this draws in the view and keeps their attention. Also, there is a shot-reverse-shot this is used at the table when the synth starts lapping we see her perspective and the family’s dad’s perspective this adds a weird tension between them both. CGI is also used to make the synths look like people but you can see they are robots.

Sound

There is diegetic sound when the synth burns the lady so she does not burn the little child. There is also synchronised sound when they are all sitting at the table as you can hear them eating and peoples calculary hitting their plate. Also, when they meet the elderly man who has an original synth he speaks to the synth like it is his child and call him son he also has sad music on when he is talking to him in the wardrobe and the synth is reminding the old man about his wife and memory’s he has. Thee sad music also adds in thee effect of how much the synth means to him and the synth is the only one that he has left and he sees him more as family than a robot.

Mise-en-scence

In the house the lighting is very dark this makes the synth stand out and gives the feeling that it is evil as well due to the way that it stands out. The synth also looks un real and too perfect to look like a real person as its skin looks perfect with no imperfections. It is also always well-dressed this makes it look smart all the time and the synth also looks like it is always stressed in the way that it never looks relaxed. In the elderly man’s house the synth shows intelligence over the owner as it can remember things that the owner cannot. Also his synth is the older synth and it looks a lot more relaxed than the others and also is well dressed but you can notice mistakes it has made as his collar is out on one side and in on the other so this makes it look like he makes mistakes whereas the new ones don’t seem to make mistakes.
