Representation of age on television is changing so that stereotypes are less commonly used

I believe this is true in some cases as a lot of the stereotypes that older people are smarter and wiser are not being used in the media as there are actors that play the villain in tv dramas and films that are over 50 so this goes against the stereotype of them being slow and useless. In adverts, they still uses young models to sell things like perfume (Gucci and Hugo Boss) this is used to draw in the audience and they can be very revealing, so there is still a stereotype that young women need to look like models for the aftershave adverts. Also there is a greater number of older protagonists used now days so this shows that the stereotype that they have to be young is not always being used now

Using theory to inform your interpretations and argument.

Task 1

Evaluate Perkins five assumptions regarding stereotypes in relation to the Hotel Babylon sequence we have studied.

Stereotypes are not always negative: Some stereotypes can be good things about people this is shown when the Asian lady gathers all the illegal immigrants in one room the stereo type of Asian people is that they are clever so this makes the audience feel like the illegal immigrants will be safe because they are with her.

They are not always about minority groups or the less powerful: this is show in the clip by making the Wight people seem like they have all the power this is shown by having the immigration officers to be Wight and treat the bloke like an animal when they catch him.

They can be held about one's own group: if you look at the white lady behind the desk you can see that this is shown to represent power and authority. But also, there is a stereotypical view that blonds are not very clever so people can have a feeling that she won’t be clever and may be a bit stupid.

They are not rigid or unchanging: we can see that stereo types change as one of the normal workers that is a butler is accepted even though he is a black African so this shows that the stereotype on him has faded and he is accepted now.

They are not always false: the immigration office is shown to be racist and treats the man like he is a animal and worthless so not all Wight people are racist but there is still a small amount of them that are so this stereotype could be said to be true for a small amount of people.

Task 2

Explain how Festinger can be used to explain the popularity of programmes like Hotel Babylon or other similar TV Dramas.

Festinger argued that we resist adjusting our attitudes unless faced with over whelming evidence against it. This means that people will keep stereotypes on people until evidence proves that it is not true. So this can explain the popularity of programs like hotel Babylon because people can see that the stereotype of the illegal immigrants being useless is wrong as they are working in the hotel and it looks well-kept so it can be seen to challenge stereotypes and make people think why do they really believe the stereotypes that they are useless.

Representation of disability

In this extract, there are different examples of people’s disability’s and how they get in the way of their lives and don’t allow them to do everything they want to. So, the righter of this episode is trying to get out the different feelings that some disabled people may have and how they can get in the way of their life and make them feel like they have no control over their body.

Camera

There is a establishing shot of the jumper and the inside of the shop and as you can see from this you can see that he is putting it up to see what it would look like on him but he is looking for the person in the wheelchair but as you can see from his face he is not enjoying being there and feels like everyone has to do everything for him so there for he feels like thee person looking after him is making everything seem like it’s alright when it is not. When they are filming in the back of the ambulance and his wife choses to leave the ambulance and stay with her child you get a point of view shot from one of the paramedics this allows the user to see that he wanted her to come but she won’t so this makes it look like they are

Editing

They keep having cross cutting from all the action going on and they all have someone with a disability in but they are all different disability’s and it shows the problems they are going through. Also by doing this it keeps everyone interested in what’s going on and it also allows the viewer to get different types of action happening instead of just one.

Sound

Diegetic sound is shown when they are in the caff there is festive music playing out the radio this is expected as it is very festive.

Synchronised sound here is synchronised sound as we can see that it is nearly Christmas so everyone is enjoying their self’s and you can hear this trough peoples over exited voices in the caff. Whilst this is happening the person in the wheel chair is not happy as he looks miserable compared to others and does not look like he thinks he fits in.

Mise-en-scence

The makeup of the patient in the back of the van allows the patient to look like his injuries are real so this allows the viewer to feel like it is more realistic and keeps them drawn in instead of them picking errors about how it does not look realistic. Also, this allows the viewer to feel simplify for the user.

Also because of all the tinsel and the lighting used and all of the Christmas props it gives a very festive feeling and people enjoying themselves, this makes the people with the disabilities stand out more as they can’t or don’t want to enjoy the day because of their conditions.

Ex Machina Review

Ex Machina is based around a programmer wins a competition to spend a week with Nathan the owner of the company, the programmer turns up and realises this is a weird house but it is a research facility and he is here to test the first Human A.I.

Cast

Caleb is played by Domhnall Gleeson who is an Irish actor and writer and has ab lot of experience in being an actor as he has been in films like Star Wars the force awakens and is in revenant. In believe that he does a great job at being the character of Caleb in Ex Machina as he shows the emotion that he has for Ava and how it changes through the week and the way he shows the bond that he believes that he has done.

Nathan is played by Oscar Isaac and I believe that he does a very good job in the way that he comes across as a bit weird and Ava convinces Caleb that Nathan is the bad one and she should trust her over him and the way that Nathan comes over calm when he finds out he was going to get Ava out he just says that it means Ava passed so he is so relaxed about the situation and comes across as a relaxed person.

Alicia Vikander is the most important actor and plays the part very well making the way that she moves to be very realistic with a few signs to make you feel like she is not human. Also if you look at her she is well known for acting in “the Danish Girl” and she won an Oscar in that film for best performance by an actress in a supporting role.

Director/writer

It was directed and written by Alex Garland I believe that this film was well directed well by Garland as he kept the film flowing and made shore that the audience didn’t get bored and lose attention also because he only made the film small it does not go on too long so it is not dragged out. Heis also well known for the film “28 days later”.

Producers

It was produced by DNA films and Film 4 productions so this allowed the film to have too sets of contacts for equipment and stages to use. The production companies have done very well considering that this is a low budget film there is no sign that it is a low budget film as the graphics and acting looks amazing and you could easily not now that it is a low budget film.

Production- incl sound effects and vfx

Most of the inside shots of the film was filmed inside pine wood studios in the uk so this allowed them to get the inside scenes set up just how they wanted it to show that it was a research facility and not just a home. All the footage was shot with a Sony f65 and for hand work shots a Sony f55 and was all recorded to 4k, this offered a grate picture on the finished film. Ava was filmed using a suit that picked up all her body on the camera and then it could be changed in to the robot outer shell. Also, there were no green screen was used so this allowed them to keep the scene in the background very realistic. Pixar render Man was used to render the robot body on to Ava

Ethical and moral questions

The way that Nathan treats the robots that he has made is morally wrong for example he has programed one to make love too and some people could see this as playing god and taking charge as if the robots do have intelligence then they should have free writes and not be controlled. Also some people could see it as playing god there for making him be taking advantage of something with feelings if proved they have feelings

Your critical perspective good/bad

I Believe the film was very good and you would not think that this was a small budget film. Also I like the way that they have re-created the look of the A.I. and have not made it look like a normal robot but instead they have made the Ava look like a robot in a different way instead of the standard robot look we expect to see.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – The seven key areas

1.       The issues raised by media ownership in contemporary media practice; The primary company that made the new Star Wars is LucasFilms which is owned by Disney, being owned by Disney allows them to have access to high end equipment. For example: Best CGI in the business, access to a large amount of advertisement, access to big studios which can offer the best props and costumes and they allowed them to keep to the films which have a big budget to keep the standards high, “A headline breaking budget” at that. Also with Disney’s massive budget they are able to pay for A-List stars and this is proved by Harrison Ford when he was payed 17.6 million just for his role. As it’s a big company people will be more drawn to it because it’s a known name and people can trust certain companies to make better films than others.

2.       The importance of cross media convergence and synergy in production, distribution and marketing; LucasFilm and Bad Robot Productions were the two companies that produced Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They worked together by creating their film using their wealth so they could have costumes, CGI, actors etc. and they would both pay less because they share on how much they are paying for the film. Also, the film was distributed by Walt Disney and Motion Pictures which means they did all the advertisement and selling the film. They did this using their size and influence on the general public because everyone knows Disney so will be more attracted to the film. The roles that they undertook were just simply advertising the film and then putting them into the cinemas across the world and they would get money from it.

3.       The technologies that have been introduced in recent years at the levels of productions, distribution, marketing and exchange; Over the recent years there has been a lot of different ways to market and distribute your films. These are some of the following: You can now advertise your films on social medias, you can give teaser trailers showing parts of your film and giving the audience an idea of what your film is going to be about and this will also bring more attention to your film. Production has gotten easier with the introduction of motion capture where you use a person to create a CGI character that you move yourself. You can market easier too now that everyone uses the internet and a lot of people will see it as long as you put the advertisement on the internet.

4.       the significance of proliferation in hardware and content for institutions and audiences; The way film has been changed with the rise of technology is quite a lot when it comes to the effects of editing and the actual making of the film. When trying to sell the film, they pitch the film and advertise but now that everyone (relatively) has a web enabled device around the house, they have had to change the ways that they advertise and market their films. For example, companies now advertise the films they make via YouTube as a huge range of people and ages of people watch YouTube on a daily basis. TV is also a huge way to advertise anything, especially at the peak viewing times. As technology has risen, so has the prices of advertising as there are so many ways to advertise a film or any product in general. They now can sell the film online, people don’t have to go to a cinema to watch a film now as they can pay for it online and watch it at their own home comfort. But this also does rise up the fact that piracy is a big issue and the films can be downloaded and watched illegally without the makers of the film earning a penny.

5.       The way the film was marketed is helped by the internet and social media, the internet can be used to show rumours about what is going to happen in the film and this makes people read them and then want them to go and see the film to see what happens. Social media sites like Facebook can be used to show clips of the film or trailers and pictures of the film and when it comes out these can be shared so this can get out the releasing date for the film and also where it will be played so what cinema it will be in, all of this information can be found for free and also does not cost anything to advertise on their own page so there for it is very good value and can make a massive difference. Also posters get put up in high populated areas so that more people here about the film. And also before similar films with the same sort of audience a snippet of the film would be shown and give you the release date so people that would more than likely want to watch the film will know when the film is coming out. Also adverts on websites can be used so when people are looking at curtain sites a Star Wars advert will pop up and this makes them read it so there for gets out the message of when the film is coming out to more so the internet and social media have allowed the film industries to advertise on a much bigger scales for reasonable prices.

6.       the issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences (specifically, British) by international or global institutions; The way that Star Wars: The Force Awakens was marketed in the world was different in different areas. In China, it was marketed aggressively in China, they used a lot of adverts and TV shows to try and gain the country's attention to the film. Which it did in fact do relatively well for an ‘Outside China’ film. Now in Europe, it was marketed by using A list stars on the adverts as people would see someone they like is in the film and then they go to see it. That was the same for the USA, they used Comicon as brought Harrison Ford which I believe must’ve impacted the number of people who went to see it. Most people thought Harrison Ford didn’t care about the film much but the appearance at Comicon and him being extremely happy about being there must’ve made people see it. They also used a lot of talk shows on TV to gain viewers’ attention towards the film.

7.       the ways in which the candidates’ own experiences of media consumption illustrate wider patterns and trends of audience behaviour. People that watch the film on the first viewing can make a big impact to how many people want to go and see the film as if loads of the people that see it first post bad reviews of it a lot of people will not want to go and see it as they don’t see the point and if it is a film like Star Wars and everyone said it is the worst one yet not many people would not want to watch it as they don’t want to ruin all of the other Star Wars films they have watched. 48 million was turned over in the first weekend on IMAX screens it was also the fastest film to get a gross of 1 billion dollars.

How is representation of disability represented in TV drama

List of 4 TV dramas that feature disabled characters

The bridge- Sonya cross is seen too have Asperger syndrome, this is a autism spectrum disorder and is said to be on the high functioning end of the spectrum. She is also a detective so the director is showing that you can still be very helpful and do important jobs even with a disability.

Braking Bad- Walter white is a son of a chemistry teacher and has cerebral palsy and he is the main protagonist of Braking Bad, this is a condition marked by impaired muscle coordination. The director gets him across as a smart person that is good at planning just he does not have loads of strength but he does manage to make lots of money and is still very able.

Covert Affairs- this is a USA program where Auggie Anderson is a blind CIA analyst and a computer genius, this shows again that the director is trying to get over that disabled people can still do jobs and be a massive help to society.

Glee- Artie Abrams, a glee member that had to use a wheel chair this is because he has down syndrome but he still manages to be a cheerleader, this is showing that the director wanted him to be able to be a cheerleader and not allow his disability to get in the way of what he wants to do. Also you can see that he is always smiling and enjoying himself as he always looks happy.

As you can see all the disable characters seem to be portrayed to do what they want and that their disability does not hold them back and that in the programs they are needed and are part of a group so this shows that the director wants us to see they can do what they want and be a help to society with their conditions not getting in their way.

Regional identity in doc martin
Image result for doc martin

Regional identity is constructed in the doc martin clip you can see loads of different regional identity that is shown in the clip just in the way people act, drees and speak this can show a lot about a person and where they are from.

Camera

There is an establishing shot at the very start it shows a dated doctors surgery and shows the different ways in which people dress, looking at doc martin he stands out due to the way that the camera angle makes him look a lot taller than all the other people in the shot this may be done to show power like he is in charge also the camera is focus on the speaker all the way through the clip this makes the audience can tell who is speaking quickly. Also, an establishing shot is taken when the dot martin is walking out of the police station this shows the viewer where he is and what thee place looks like and makes it look like he does not fit in.

Editing

There is a lot of jump cuts that are used when doc martin goes to a different location in the village for example when he leaves with the stray dog from the surgery we see him grab the dog and then he is nearly to the police station where he is taking the dog when we see the next shot of him. This makes everything happen quicker and not get dragged out so there for keeps the users interested in the episode.

Sound

There is synchronised sound when the bigger man helping to mend the sink makes it spray water everywhere we hear the water going everywhere and doc martin when he is shouting to get a tool to fix it whilst he stops it going everywhere with a cushion. There is also synchronised sound when doc is walking down the street from the police station you can hear the wind and the sea in the background this adds to the image of where he is and makes him stand out more from the locals.

 mies-en-scene

At the star, there is low light this makes the surgery look dated and makes it look like it was not very well looked after before, also it makes doc martin stand out. Also in the surgery, you can see that the two men have period cloths that are old and scruffy and is typical for the location of the place being Cornwall and they all have a southerner accent, doc martin stands out as he is from the city and does not have a southern accent and looks very smart. Also, the scenery is dated as all the houses are dated this makes you see that this extract is set in the past also the surgery backs this up as well as it is dated as well. Also, Burt is said to have a lot of knowledge from the lady with the boxes of vegetables she says he is good to know but when he was asked what bodmin means he couldn’t explain it this shows that h8e is not well educated but he is thought to be

Representation of age in Humans
Image result for humans series

Humans is where people have synths this is a life like robot that dose all the stuff that you need it to it can even drive. Synths only represent age in there looks as they don’t age so there for they show no signs of aging. In the clip the children treat her as a slave and the girl even says that she is a slave they are just accepted in to society by most people but the family’s mum disagrees with it and wants it out of there house. There mum looks quite old and does not want a synth this shows that the main elder person in the family does not want one and disagrees with the technology and notices something weird about it like it has feelings.

Camera

There is an establishing shot of the family sitting at the table then when the synth starts to lath they all smile but when she does not stop you get a perspective shot from the family’s dad this allows the user to see all their reactions to her not stopping. Also, when they all speak at the table the camera focuses on the speaker, and the synth when it speaks it always has the camera focused on it.

Editing

There is a cut shot strata away as it jumps to breakfast this draws in the view and keeps their attention. Also, there is a shot-reverse-shot this is used at the table when the synth starts lapping we see her perspective and the family’s dad’s perspective this adds a weird tension between them both. CGI is also used to make the synths look like people but you can see they are robots.

Sound

There is diegetic sound when the synth burns the lady so she does not burn the little child. There is also synchronised sound when they are all sitting at the table as you can hear them eating and peoples calculary hitting their plate. Also, when they meet the elderly man who has an original synth he speaks to the synth like it is his child and call him son he also has sad music on when he is talking to him in the wardrobe and the synth is reminding the old man about his wife and memory’s he has. Thee sad music also adds in thee effect of how much the synth means to him and the synth is the only one that he has left and he sees him more as family than a robot.

Mise-en-scence

In the house the lighting is very dark this makes the synth stand out and gives the feeling that it is evil as well due to the way that it stands out. The synth also looks un real and too perfect to look like a real person as its skin looks perfect with no imperfections. It is also always well-dressed this makes it look smart all the time and the synth also looks like it is always stressed in the way that it never looks relaxed. In the elderly man’s house the synth shows intelligence over the owner as it can remember things that the owner cannot. Also his synth is the older synth and it looks a lot more relaxed than the others and also is well dressed but you can notice mistakes it has made as his collar is out on one side and in on the other so this makes it look like he makes mistakes whereas the new ones don’t seem to make mistakes.

Class and status in Downton abbey

Watching the Downton abbey clip we get an in site to the different classes of the time and the way that society is split up. You can see that the lord of the manor holds a very high status in society so he can afford to have butlers a cooks for him, you can see by what he wears he is very high up in society where as his servants are of a lower class and don’t have the luxury’s that he does. The lord of the manor is very chilled out and does not have to worry about anything so when he is walking down the stairs we can see he is very child where as his servants are downstairs rushing to get all of his stuff ready like ironing his papers and making his breakfast.

Camera shot

At the very start it uses an establishing shot that allows us to know that it is set in a manor house that has very nice grounds surrounding it so all ready this allows the watcher to see that this is owned by a very wealthy person/family. When we get in to the manor house we see one of the lady’s that live there and she is very chilled out and we see a point of view shot as if looking through her eyes at the person delivering the papers, then she rings the bell for breakfast and we see a wide shot of all of his servants and as soon as the bell goes we see the rush begin and then a focusing shot on the speaker is used to make it clear who is speaking. There is also a shallow focusing shot that is used on the man ironing the papers when he reads the paper this helps to make his face expression stand out on the screen.

Sound

At the very start there is background music that is classical piano music this adds to the way we look at the status of the owners as the music is a high class music of the time, the music is also very relaxed and calm. We also get synchronous sound when the push bike is going past with the delivery of the news paper on the old cobbled road. When they find out about the sinking of the titanic in the paper one of his daughters gives him a telegraph and at this moment the music speeds up this adds tension and makes you feel as if the telegram will be bad news, the music then takes over at the end when they realise that james and Patrick where on the titanic and it seems that they were not picked up the music then takes over and this adds tension to the views and helps to shown the emotion in the rooms.

Editing

There is a cut shot used right at the start as it jumps from being outside the manor house watching the man delivering the paper to being in one of the lady’s rooms in the manor house this keeps the viewer interested and gives them an insight to what is going on as they use a cut shot to go through the different classes/people jumping from different places in the manors ground. Also cross cutting is used to go from the lord of the manor and the servants to show the different actions for example he is very relaxed walking down his stairs whereas the servants are inn a rush to get everything ready for him. Fast pace editing is used when the lord of the manor gets given the telegram this adds tension to the audience as it gives off a message that it is bad news.

Mise-en-scence

When watching the clip, it is very easy to pull out the people in lower class to higher class, just looking at their clothes you can tell who is in the higher class. For example, the lord of the manor is wherein a very well fitting suit that looks very smart also his servants are not of a high class but they do dress in a very smart manner as they are seen by him where as his cleaners and cooks are not seen by him their clothes are a lot more basic and don’t look very smart or good fitting. There is also a family sort of relationship shown with the servants that are working in the manor house this gives a family sort of feeling. Also all of the props used in the manor house fits in with the era of the set making it look more realistic.

Hotel Babylon
Image result for hotel babylon

The clip of hotel Babylon that we watched in lesson shows immigration officers coming in to find all of the illegal immigrants. The main immigration officer is the antagonist as he has come to take away the workers that are illegal immigrant, this is very important as this is used to make the viewer have feelings for the illegal immigrants so this is key to the way that we see the scene. The lady at the end that starts arguing with them taking him away is the protagonist and is trying to make them let him go. Also they don’t treat the man they are taking with any respect as they drag him out of the place like an animal and it makes him look worthless, when the lady asks them to let him go he reply’s with its all a game this makes him make it sound like they are all worthless and have no values and it’s just a game to catch them so it makes it sound like they are animals and the immigration officers are hunters.

Camera shots

The first shot is a close up shot on the immigration officer and it gives this image that he is an evil man as his face is very strata and he does not smile so he is here for an important reason. When the antagonist gets to the hotel desk the light shines on to the reception lady’s face and she looks like she is relaxed and happy where as when the light gets pointed at the antagonist we see him as a not very nice person who is very strait to the point and needs to get his way. Also when all of the immigrants are hiding in the staff room it gives a wide angle shot that gets them all in and makes them look like a family. it Also a hand-held camera is used when they are running around the building this makes it feel like you are ruining as well as it feels like you are looking through someone else’s eyes. Also steady camera is used as even when they are running it is very smooth this allows the user to watch a smooth picture but also know they are running. There is also a focus pull when Ibrahim is caught this is used to show his sudden feeling of danger, when the antagonist just sees it as a game and that the immigrant is worthless. There is also ben who is a black gentleman that is dressed in a smarty manor not like the immigrant workers

Editing

Fast pace editing is used to create the tension when they are all running to hide from the immigration officer also it shows their facial expressions and you can see that all of them are scared and don’t want to be caught. When the nock on the door it zooms in when she opens it this builds up attention to make you want to know who is at the door. A cut is used when she jumps from being in the staff room to being in reception this builds up tension for the user and makes you realise how important the immigrants are to her as she wants them to let him go.

Sound

The backing music at the start when you see the antagonist walk in is very upbeat and makes it feel fast paced when he walks in like he needs to do it quickly so none of the illegal immigrants can escape, it also makes him come across as a lot eviller. Also when they are hiding in the staff room the background music that is on all the way through stops when they lock themselves in the staff room but when they realise one person is missing an eerie sound starts to play to add tension. Diegetic sound was used so this is when the sound has a meaning on the screen so when they were running you could hear the footsteps this shows diegetic sound. Non diegetic sound was also used when there were bits that had tension in them they used the non-diegetic sound to make them more tense. Synchronised sound is used when they are running as the sound of footsteps is expected as they are running. Also sound bridging is used as there is background music that plays all the way through the clip.

Mise-en-scence

The hotels staff that you would see for example the people behind the office where white and dressed smartly whereas the immigrants where not dressed formally and where in the background where people would not see them very often, the jobs that they had made them look like they had no other choice of what job they could have as they were not very intelligent, this was all proved wrong when the lady passed out in the staff room that they were hiding in and one of the cleaners new exactly what to do and she said “I was not always a cleaner” this shows that he was a doctor and is very intelligent so the stereotype that is given to them is incorrect as they are very can be very clever. Also at the start you see this very nice smart hotel and then they show you what is really going on in the background when the immigrants are all hiding in the staff room. Also you can see the different statuses they have when you see their uniforms for example the immigrants uniform is very basic but everyone else’s uniform is very smart.

Representation of gender in Luther

Luther on BBC shows binary opposite between male and female

Camera shots

There is an establishing shot which sets the scene and shows on where they are showing that they are on a sky scraper so this gets a good shot of where they are. And then they use a focus shot on whoever is speaking and then they bluer out the background. They also use jump shots so that they can jump from person to person, also they use a jump shot when they are on the balcony then all of a sudden they are in her flat/apartment. When they are in the apartment side shots of them when they are speaking this make the background stand out so you look at what she owns in her apartment and get a feeling for what sort of person she is.

Sound

At the start of the scene you can hear all of the traffic in the background this makes you realise that they are on a sky scraper in a busy area/city so there is a lot of traffic noise. When she shows him the picture of the black whole eerie music which adds to the weird way that she explains it, you get this thought that she is not wright in the head.

Editing

There was editing used when they jumped from outside on the balcony to inside her apartment so this will have been edited together this give the audience a feeling that something is going to happen as it speeds up what is happening so they don’t haft to watch there every mood this allows them not to get bored and stay concentrated on the program.

Mise-en-scene

There is a relationship between the actors as they all know each other. There is also a telescope on here balcony and she also has a picture of a black hole so this indicates she likes looking at the night sky. He is dressed up really smart which gets over the opinion he is a detective of some sort and is trying to solve a mystery.

Fifth Harmony - All In My Head (Flex) ft. Fetty Wap

As soon as the song starts they go through all of the women and they are all warring different cloths to draw in the watcher and they are all revealing also like in the picture there hair is quit messed up and looks like they are all having fun. It goes through all of the women one by one at the start and they do a sort of pose. also looking at the way she is looking with her mouth partially open and her hair messed up it also make the viewer feel as if she feels pleasure.

After they have all been introduced and done their little intro part one at a time they all come and then at 24 seconds they are all in the water together this gets across that they are all having fun and it also draws inn the male views as they are all dressed in a way that draws in male views (male gaze). Also because they are all wet and have their hair all messed up it makes the viewer connect it with pleasure and orgasms.

At 32 seconds in they get close shots of the women to draw in the viewers  this shows that she wants us to see her and the way she looks so she is showing her self off to the viewers. Also she is looking directly at the camera so it gives the impression she is looking at us. Also she is sticking her chest out so this makes the viewer look at her.

It will also appeal to females as there are men that are coming out of the water so this will draw in the females and also he is in good shape so he is  showing him self off to the viewer and wants them to look at him. also because of the dark stone behind he stands out a lot and is the first thing you look at.

At 47 seconds there is another close up shot she is also lying on the beach and the way that she is holding her hair it gives over the impression she wants your intention  and again gives over the image of pleasure that she is portraying in the positon she is in. Also the lighting being so bright makes her stand out a lot so you focus just on her as there is only sand in the background so there is only her to look at.

this is a close up shot again but this time it is on a male so this will draw in the women back in the video he is also looking at the camera so it looks like he is staring in to the viewers eyes, by doing this it draws in the viewer as they feel like he is looking at them.
