Representation of age on television is changing so that stereotypes are less commonly used

I believe this is true in some cases as a lot of the stereotypes that older people are smarter and wiser are not being used in the media as there are actors that play the villain in tv dramas and films that are over 50 so this goes against the stereotype of them being slow and useless. In adverts, they still uses young models to sell things like perfume (Gucci and Hugo Boss) this is used to draw in the audience and they can be very revealing, so there is still a stereotype that young women need to look like models for the aftershave adverts. Also there is a greater number of older protagonists used now days so this shows that the stereotype that they have to be young is not always being used now
